After our last members’ meeting in the Red Cow, we learned that we need to get the charity status for the IPIA. We cannot expand the committee or get any funding until we are a legal entity. We had been working on a very informal basis up until this point, which cannot work with a larger number of people. The potential of the IPIA to grow is clear, we want to make sure that the organisation is set up properly, so it can last for a long time and handle a big membership.
We are having our Committee meetings regularly and are working hard to get the papers sorted. The plan is to ensure we are a legal and fully functional entity early this year. Things are moving steady and we are making good progress, however this takes some time. Once we have this legal status we will be a solid organisation and we can then apply for funding and hold events.
We hope to hold a family meeting in Spring next year. Our focus now is to grow membership and raise our profile.
When you are an IPIA’s member, not only you have the opportunity to connect with others who understand you but also learn about research, the latest treatments, therapies and much more.
Please engage through the facebook, twitter, instagram or Youtube. We are active in all media, we are updating our page regularly.
IPIA looks forward for a busy and successful 2017.
We wish you all a healthy New Year.
